AMIC PD TERM beta version .58E - Revision notes 1. VERY Quick reference to revision on .58E o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: Some bugs have been removed here, while making the code smaller. Also the program is now able to support 31250 Baud transmitions, although the current release does NOT go THAT fast, but the REGISTE- RED users version of Revision F WILL! We are clocking around 18900 Baud on NULL MODEM 19200 connection, and around 8600 in 9600 HST to HST connection, and that is going to get faster! o REVIEW BUFFER: The character flow processing has been modified quite a bit now. Although this can be MUCH faster than it is now with large buffers, still one is faster than previous releases. Revision F will have a completely modified Review algorithm. o WXMODEM: Is it FINALLY fixed? Please, let me know! o Registered users will noticed that the script language has been fixed, particularly the CAPTURE and CALL com- mands of the program. o UNARC: Only change here is the shortcut key, it is not a duplicated now. o PRINT BUFFER: Nobody seems to use this, so, we removed this feature from the program since it saves about 1K of code, plus whatever Review Buffer you have! So, if ya had 16K Review buffer, you have now an extra 17K to play around! o PHONELIB: Cleaned up some code here too. o ERROR MESSAGES: Error messages are not going thru one common routine, giving more consistency to the error messages the user gets from the program. o INTRO SCREEN: Hope you like it! Just click the mouse button, or type a key to abort it. o What's best on this release, for me, is that the code has been cleaned up quite a bit. Mantaining this code is getting easier, and that's something we really MUST do! :-) o LOOK for Revision F, REGISTERED USERS! Yeah, sorry, there won't be REVISION F for non-registered users. That's if I don't find a MAJOR bug that changes our mind about that. Page 1 AMIC PD TERM beta version .58D - Revision notes 1. VERY Quick reference to revision on .58D o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: Some little bug in here with the operator variable has been fixed. Also tuned up the precision of the Fields selector a bit. o INSTANT WINDOW: Fixed a problem that caused the window to "Dissapear", crashing the system when use trying to re-select it again. o REVIEW BUFFER: Made some small changes in the Review rou- tine, which makes the input flow much faster on large Review Buffers. Let me know if it is faster or not! o ASCII SET: FINALLY! This is FIXED 100% You should be able to use those networks that send strange characters now when using the 32-127 ASCII Character set. o WXMODEM: I think the problem with WXModem and PLINK is fixed. This thing has worked all the time from AMIC to AMIC, but since I am not subscribed to PLINK, I can't be sure if I am doing it right for them. Hope so! Let me know ASAP if not!!! o PRESENTATION: Well, hope you like the intro thingie. o And some other little thingies here and there, like the phone autodial toggle, etc. Page 2 AMIC PD TERM beta version .58B - Revision notes 2. VERY Quick reference to revision on .58B o CONFIGURATION WINDOW: As far as I know all the configura- tion data is being written correctly to the .Config file. We added some more Configuration parameters, and a MORE Gadget to access them. This are the definition of the Beep Sound, and to select the use of the whole 255 ASCII Table, or just the normal set. This why ya can still use those IBM boards with fancy menus, or with networks like PC Pursuit that require the limited ASCII Table set. You should be able to RUN AMIC as many times as you want w/o having a crash created by the program. You can change the operator mode (to Sum or Rest) by clicking the RIGHT Mouse Button, a status line is in the top right of the Configuration window, reporting the current status of the Operator. o INSTANT WINDOW: Just a minor problem with one of the Fast Menu choices... it has been corrected. o ASCII SET: There is a new selection in the SETUP Menu of this version, which allows you to select the ASCII Set range you want to get on your screen. Selecting the 31-127 Item will insure a clean screen when connected to packet networks like Telenet and TymeNet. When se- lecting the full set (0-255, ya are able to see those fancy IBM borders on some of those ANSI BBS's.. o SERIAL IO: We have changed the code so that the Serial IO Port priorities are set to the value defined in the .Config file, instead of ZERO as it was done before, that will greately improve IO performance on higher priorities, but may deteriorate Multitasking a bit on heave file transfers at high speed, if this priority value is too high.. 2 seems to be a nice balance for high performance, without loss of multitasking. o TRANSFER WINDOW: It won't "vanish" when this window is draged around, as it did on the previous release!
